The I-15 North Corridor Design-Build project will mean better commute times and better interstate commerce. It’s a vision for an enhanced quality of life for those who live in, travel through and visit Southern Nevada. Nevada’s first transportation design-build project includes major improvements to Interstate 15 from U.S. 95 (also known as the Spaghetti Bowl) to Craig Road. The I-15 North Design Build project is paving the way to better mobility for Nevada’s future. View Improvements Map
The improvements include:
Regional Projects
- Widening I-15 from six to 10 lanes from U.S. 95 (Spaghetti Bowl Interchange) to Lake Mead Boulevard
- Reconstruction of on- and off- ramps at all four interchanges in the project area, including:
- D Street
- Lake Mead Boulevard
- Cheyenne Avenue
- Craig Road
- Reconstruction of the aging bridges at Bonanza Road, D Street, and Washington Avenue
- Widening I-15 from four and five lanes to eight lanes from Lake Mead Boulevard to Craig Road
- Reconstruction of the Lake Mead Boulevard interchange
- Auxiliary lanes between interchanges from U.S. 95 to Craig Road
- New connection road linking D Street and F Street between I-15 and Bonanza Road
- Sound walls at the following areas of the corridor:
- West side of the I-15 between U.S. 95 and Owens Avenue underpass
- East side of I-15, just south of the Lake Mead Boulevard interchange
- East side of I-15, just south of Carey overpass
- East side of I-15, both south and north of Cheyenne Avenue interchange.
Project-wide Improvements
- Improved lighting throughout the project area
- Attractive landscaping throughout the project area
- A Freeway Management System, including: dynamic message signs, ramp meters and closed-circuit television cameras
- Pavement reconstruction and rehabilitation throughout the project area.
